Lower and Secondary School Divisions
For our Lower School and Secondary divisions, we use as our knowledge base the Chinese curriculum standards of compulsory education (CCS) and apply a thematic, project-based model to implement them. Everything we do is consistent with the global Sustainable Development Goal defined by the UN, so that our students' work has a "real life" dimension. We also draw upon a variety of other acclaimed guides in the construction of our curriculum. They include, from the USA, the National Research Council’s Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the Common Core States Standard (CCSS). Our approach to Mathematics combines the computational rigor of Chinese Mathematics and the more conceptual Singapore Mathematics. The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has strongly influenced our approach to Technology. In terms of developing “the whole person”, we have made use of the competencies delineated by the Centre for Curriculum Redesign.
