At 7:00 each morning, when most people haven't yet begun their work, Huitong ELC's classrooms already buzz with teachers' activity. This isn't mere preparation—it's thoughtful, professional care in action. Before children arrive, teachers have already begun considering not just what to teach, but how pupils will experience the space and continue their explorations.
In the morning light, they arrange classrooms with care: preparing open-ended materials for creativity, organising resources for English small-group work, checking each child's reading record, and displaying new vocabulary cards.

At Huitong ELC, every class's curriculum is deeply rooted in children's interests and developmental pace, with teachers systematically integrating subject knowledge into daily teaching and exploration. This pedagogical approach is built upon our educators' substantial knowledge base and rich teaching experience.
Huitong ELC takes pride in its highly capable and passionate educational team. Today, we are pleased to introduce these caring and creative educators.
Our Head of ELC is a Columbia University graduate, while our curriculum design director holds a Harvard University degree—both bringing extensive teaching and curriculum development experience from China and the United States. Meanwhile, 90% of our teachers possess five or more years of experience in early childhood education, with 70% holding master's or doctoral degrees in early childhood education, psychology, or English language teaching.
You may wonder what role our Huitong ELC teachers play in the classroom. In practice, they serve as attentive observers, supportive guides, and facilitators of children's projects—because a single expression, a casual remark, or one attempt at exploration could become the starting point of a meaningful project and a key to understanding the world.

Taking our Nursery class as an example, teachers noticed the children were at a crucial stage of transitioning from solitary play to making friends. What we consider basic social skills—like asking "Can I play too?" before joining a game, or learning to take turns in shared spaces—were just beginning to emerge. It was then that teachers observed a shared interest among the children: many were fascinated by the number characters from the animated series Numberblocks. Why not seize this opportunity to blend number recognition with social skills through play?
Thus, a magical mini maths zone was born!

In just two square metres, teachers have cleverly created five interconnected activity zones. Children can start by building, begin with recording or drawing, or strengthen their counting skills through one-to-one correspondence activities. They may follow structured progression or join intuitively through free exploration. Every material and spatial transition opens new pathways for discovery—this is both guided play and a fully self-directed journey.
In this compact world:
One child intently builds their favourite Numberblocks character
Another carefully records how many blocks they've used
Several children discover they've created the same character using different materials
Others quietly observe their peers while contemplating their own creations
Though each child focuses independently, they remain connected to one another. Numbers, colours and shapes become their shared language. In this carefully prepared environment, every child is seen, respected and empowered to explore in their own way—the educational fruit of our teachers' attentive listening and observation.

As the day's lively explorations settle into quiet reflection, the deeper work of Huitong ELC teachers begins.
Gathering together, teachers review and discuss each child's engagement: "Why was he drawn to this particular activity?" "What was she trying to express through that comment?" These careful observations are documented in detail, becoming direct inspiration for tomorrow's teaching.

It is precisely through this daily process of reflection and careful observation by Huitong ELC teachers that every child's question finds its response. This dedicated approach ensures that from the very start of their educational journey, children maintain their innate curiosity about the world and grow with the unwavering belief in their own limitless potential.
