Advisory System

In our school, the personal relationships between teachers and students remain irreplaceable. That human connection between educator and pupil, mentor and mentee, has a profound and lasting impact on a young person’s development. We are fortunate to maintain a generous teacher-student ratio, which enables our unique advisory system. Not only that, but every faculty member we hire is selected with interpersonal skills in mind; we look for outstanding academic teachers who are also natural advisors - they are caring, approachable, and empathetic. So, every student receives thoughtful, personalised guidance not only academically, but also socially and emotionally, and in nurturing their individual interests, talents, and growth. All Huitong teachers are pastoral advisors and, in that context, can be thought of as performing three related roles:
Personalised Growth: Chief Discovery Officer of Student Potential

Personalised Growth: Chief Discovery Officer of Student Potential

Every student has unique strengths, passions, and untapped potential. Our advisors, as Chief Discovery Officers, guide each young learner on a journey of self-discovery. Through one-on-one sessions and community activities, they help students reflect, set goals, and build skills like leadership, collaboration, and empathy. This tailored guidance ensures every student can explore their interests fully and grow into the person they want to become.
Emotional Support: Warm Nurturer of Student Well-Being

Emotional Support: Warm Nurturer of Student Well-Being

True growth needs a safe and supportive environment. Our Warm Nurturers focus on students’ emotional and personal development, providing steady guidance, encouragement, and care. They model empathy, integrity, and resilience, helping girls and boys to face challenges, explore passions, and express themselves freely. With this foundation, students gain confidence, self-awareness, and the resilience to navigate life’s complexities.
Home-School Connection: Strategic Partner in Family Education

Home-School Connection: Strategic Partner in Family Education

Learning thrives when school and home work together. Our Strategic Partners ensure parents are active participants in their child’s journey, providing insights beyond grades. They give guidance on social skills, character growth, and personal development. By aligning educational strategies and maintaining open communication, advisors create a consistent, supportive environment where students can flourish both at school and at home.
