STUDENT LEADERSHIP

We encourage students to take on responsibilities and become active, positive members of their community and the school.

STUDENT COUNCIL

The Huitong Student Council plays a vital role in connecting students with the school. We are dedicated to creating a supportive, organised and engaging campus environment. Through organising a variety of activities, representing student voices and promoting personal growth, we seek to nurture leadership skills, responsibility and a strong sense of community. Together, we strive to ensure that every student's time at Huitong is both memorable and meaningful.

STUDENT READING AMBASSADORS

The Huitong Student Reading Ambassadors are passionate readers who promote a culture of reading on campus by recommending great books and organising reading activities, inspiring more students to enjoy the joy of reading.

HOUSE SYSTEM

The House System is a unique part of Huitong's campus culture. From the moment they step onto the Huitong campus, every student and teacher is assigned to a house.

We have four vibrant houses - Taishan, Pearl, Panda, and Ginkgo - representing a mountain, a river, an animal, and a plant, symbolising our diverse cultures. Each year, the New Student Orientation is one of the most significant events on campus. Guided by their House Heads and House Captains, students full of unlimited potential and creativity take part in a unique House Sorting Ceremony. To encourage and recognise students' progress and achievements across various subjects and activities, we have established the House Points System and introduced the House Star Awards.

We hope that our students will lead by example, embodying the characteristics of their respective houses - kindness, curiosity, and courage - while confidently being themselves. These characteristics will guide every Huitong student's personal growth and bring our entire Huitong community together in unity.

Student House Captains

The Student House Captains are student leaders elected from each house. They lead their house members in various sports, and community activities, playing a key role in organizing teams, building house spirit, and supporting house events.

STUDENT-LED CLUBS

Students are encouraged to take initiative, develop leadership skills, and create a positive impact within their community by pursuing their passions. These clubs vary from year to year and always cover a diverse range of academic, hobby-related, and extracurricular pursuits.
